"Thee are two aspects of nature: the perishable and the imperishable.  All life in this world belongs to the former, the unchanging element belongs to the later" Bhagavad Gita 15

Five Pillars of Faith

Followers of Islam share a core of basic beliefs on which they base their daily lives.

  2. Fasting - ("sawn")  During the month of Ramadan, Muslims are to refrain from eating, drinking, smoking and sexual activities form dawn to sunset.

  3. Almsgiving - ("zakah")  Muslims pay 2.5% of their accumulated wealth each year to assist the poor and sick.

  4. Pilgrimage to Mecca - ("hajj")  If the means are available, every believer makes at least one visit to Mecca during their lifetime.
